Netflix Is for Home
Until mobile networks can provide truly unlimited Internet, services like Netflix are best enjoyed at home, hooked to a wired connection.

Yeah, but the problem is now home WiFi providers are implementing data caps too. My Comcast Xfinity home WiFi has a data cap of 300GB. I chose them over AT&T U-Verse because it had a data cap of 250GB. I cannot fault Netflix for what they are doing because big businesses are finding new ways to charge customers more for less. I remember when home WiFi was always unlimited, now we have to watch that data usage too. It is becoming ridiculous!

I once had AT&T's DSL service; it was reliable but slow. It too had a 250 GB cap, but even with all three of my household members using it constantly, we never came close to hitting the ceiling. On the other hand, Sprint's new "unlimited" data caps your high speed at twenty-four GB. I alone blow through that amount in a month. That is why I could never turn off Charter.

Well I have 3 people in my home and we get close to the 300GB data cap by Comcast. The closest time was a data usage of 295GB. But that was when I binged on a Season of House of Cards or Daredevil or Orange is the New Black. Now that I have started school, I'm too tired to watch TV and I am not at home long enough to watch as much as I did before. I think the wireless carriers do not charge you if you use a lot of data on an unlimited plan, but throttle you instead. With Netflix's throttling or with T-Mobile's Binge-On, I have not noticed a reduction in video quality on my tablet/phone. I don't really watch Netflix on my TV anymore because I am usually on the go. I think capping data and throttling data are two different things, but they can...

I recall when the ISP (Cox Communication) had a charge for having a network in the home. I never told them, they never asked, eventually that stopped being a part of their plan and a home network is assumed. They rolled the network charge, and a much more, into their ever-increasing monthly fee.
I have a 350GB "cap" but usually exceed it by less than 10% each month and haven't seen any upcharges or throttling beyond the crappy service that appears to be par. Supposed to get 50 Mbps / 5 Mbps usually get ~18 Mbps / 7 Mbps. This is after they removed the filter from the line that had been in place since 1999 and should have been removed 13 years ago. It was really awful before that.
AT&T was so awful I will never use DSL again. (by awf...

Uverse is changing over the data caps now based on what speeds you have. I think the change is going through today, however I cannot locate the page in my system right now.
