Android is Linux as well. So were a myriad of other failed smartphone OS's. But I do like the prospect of an Android alternative. Just not sure it will take off.

I hope it does -- I've used a Sailfish ROM on my old GNexus and it's really nice. Takes some getting used to, but it's smooth, fluid and intuitive. The ROM is too rough to be used as a daily driver but every now and then I take it out for a spin.
