That's like, THREE DAYS away! I've NEVER been so hyped about a new product release from ANY company. Finally, a company with real gadget freaks behind the scenes, bring hardware and services that are GENUINELY new to the US market - not just tacked on crap.

I'm dropping cash on terminating my Sprint contract the second Helio launches, porting my number over (they e-mailed me that number porting will be available right at launch), and I'll be in mobile heaven!

i knew you would get the first comment on this. 😁 if you haven't added helio as your friend on myspace, you can at least do that and agonize over the wait with like minded folk until launch:

I just called their customer service and found out they already launched for KA market. I was gonna get the service over the phone but then the guy told me that kickflip is only available for now because hero is already sold out. I guess I'm gonna have to wait for another week or two................

How the heck did you get their customer service number? Did you go through the public relations number?

Also, if they've launched (over the phone, at least) for Kansas, that doesn't necessarily mean that they'll sell you a phone/service for other markets... does it?

Cuz if so, I'ma ring their phones off the hook! =)

(OMG, what's happening to me?!)

I got the number from their promotion email that I signed up for at helio.com/korean.
I think their customer service is only available in Korean for now and if you wanna give it a try here's the the number.

"haha i meant theyve launched for KOREANS,not for kansas. "

Oh, that KA. I have NO idea what the state code is for Kansas, I was just assuming, as SPrint HQ is in Kansas IIRC. =) Also so used to abbreviating the Korean market as SK...

So only in Korean right now? No no, that won't do at all. Time to play the waiting game some more... but thanks for the info! 🙂

On another note, South Korean and Japanese tech companies (in this case, mobile carriers) are rabidly nationalistic - I'm pretty sure there's not one Japanese phone on a Korean carrier, and vice versa. Having said that, it would be awesome if the SK Telecom "arm" of Helio would allow them to contract with a Japanese manufacturer also.

While the rollout of mobile _...

briankkw, i'm told what you just bought was a kickflip with a korean + english keypad, much like the keypads on all korean phones. a batch was sent out to a few "koreatowns" throughout the states and few more reserved for online sales. for the rest of us, ones with english-only keypads will follow. i still don't have an exact launch date, but this is a sign it can't be that far off.
