Everything said about ppl wanting free phones is true. As a rep for Cingular almost everyone who comes by asks for the free phone not the coolest one or even the best one just what is free. Thats why these Nokia Nseries models won't be seen with Cingular, they don't see a demand for it. 😢 Kinda Sucks though.

Why do you need Cingular to pick up any of these? Just buy an unlocked one in a store.

They don't alway work on all features even if they are unlocked. I have an unlocked phone but it doesn't connect to the internet with Cingular. Cingular and Motorola both will tell you this.

I purchased a V3I razr and cannot connect to the internet regardless of the many settings I have tried. On the other hand my Samsung SGH-D600 works perfectly.

It's not only Cingular. It's Americans in general. They rather pick a free phone instead of paying $100-$200 for one. It's the totally opposite in Europe and Asia where people are willing to pay for the coolest and latest phone.

if they marketed this crazy sick SH*t like they do in EUROPE everyone would buy it. over there they see it as a challenge to who has the best phones. if we made it that way here phones would be selling like burgers on the dollar menu.

The reason that Europeans will pay more for a phone is because they are much cheaper to use than a conventional land line. Many have given up there home phone and only use a cell.

Thats true but damn near everyone in America is starting to carry cell phones and very soon there is not gonna be much use for them unless you get VOIP or something. Its pretty funny though how fast Americans ask for whats free but when it craps out they want to complain like the phone was suppose to last 10 years or something. Maybe one day American Carriers will have some of the cool phones we see in Europe.

...also, i think generally rates and flexibility in foreign markets (i speak for Asia and Singapore in particular) are much better than what the american carriers offer...

the often have deals for their customers...their phones are generally unlocked and also always have promos even for international calls...like 10 cents per minute or something like that...

someone made the point about demand and agressive marketing is valid too....pple are generally more "sophisticated" about the phones the use and their features too...

heck pple were text mssging like mad 6-7 yrs ago and its only starting to catch on here??

the N93 looks wicked i want one, but am happy w/ my 6682...for now 🙂
