The term "high end" in reference to phones has been really bastardized to mean packing more non phone stuff into one bulging contraption! Maybe we will have one the size of a small DV camcorder!
I'd like a high end phone that is no bigger than a Sammy 650, MUST be a clamshell, decent battery life, excellent RF(extendable antenna), rugged, easily backed up, Bluetooth in addition to a 2.5mm jack, speakerphone optional (they all sound mediocre), whisper mode like the Sam 650 (so you can talk quietly and the person next to you can't hear you!), a version with NO CAMERA for those who are involved in entities prohibi...

If anything, today's phone-appliance can become stale or undesirable sooner than you think. Verizon needs NE1 not NE3.
Verizon, as a government licensed wireless operator, decides what phones can be activated on their network. They do not have to justify their decision, and the decision is not based on technology compatibility. [ proof - Kyocera 7135 phone .. FCC knows it is E911 compliant.]
Will Verizon guarantee that if I buy a new phone from them, that phone will be supported like a new phone for the next three years?
