Video Tour: HTC Touch for Sprint
Come on people...
Okay, so this is NOT an iPhone. The UI on the iPhone is spectacular, and I cry myself to sleep every night after praying that Sprint will get some cupertino lovin before I retire in 2044. Having said that, the Touch is a move in the right direction, even if it isn't as perfect an iteration as Apple's first venture. It does retain some functionality and capability that the iPhone lacks, namely MS Exchange Syncing, Live TV viewing (via Sprint TV), WINMO applications (PPT, Word, Excel), removable memory... Not to mention the fact that it is almost exactly the same size as a RAZR2. Do I need to go on? No this is not an iPhone killer like the Fanboys will claim. It wasn't meant to be. Finally, someone who gets it! People come into my store day after day and ask "Is this better than the iPhone?" and I have to keep telling them that this is on a whole DIFFERENT level. For a business person, this phone has a TON more functionality (see above), for someone interested in music and music related features... the iPhone is a better option (between these two).
On a side note, Apple actually came to Sprint first about the iPhone, because of the fact that we have the most developed music download system. We didn't accept their offer because Apple wanted ~40% of ALL plan revenue PLUS the phone price. A Sprint iPhone will probably never happen because of the demands Apple packages with the right to carry the iPhone.

Right, the iPhone also is able to pull up web pages faster than the Touch (and render them better with desktop grade accuracy) , offers full PDF attachment support, better battery life, and doesn't require you to deal with ActiveSync.
And nothing appeases business users like the text entry method in the Touch!
The Touch is only one of many HTC devices I've regretted buying. Their spec sheets are always impressive, but each time I can't help but wonder how anyone thought these devices were ready for prime time.
