Why do they want to? First of all, Vodafone just got out of Japan and their stockholders made off nicely. Verizon has been very profitable for them and looks to be in the future as well. Verizon is the one sweating from the new Ma Bell build up and owning Vodafone's 45% stake would put them in a much better position to compete. I still think Vodafone would sell but only at a very inflated price that I'm sure Verizon won't fork over. 50-60 Bill minimum.

Yeah I agree, but Voda is going to play hardball with them before they do. Basically, "You want it that bad?? How much are you willing to pay?? Get down and grovel boy!"

They got Verizon by the short and curlies, HAHAHAHA.

hey...

we as i posted earlier on another forum that it wouldnt be wise for vodafone to sell its stake in verizon wireless especially considering the growth that it has been seeing.. i think in 3 or so years as this market becomes saturated and voice arpu starts to decline, i think that voda should sell its stake and could probably get it for $70+B...

as another member said here, vodafone has verizon by the leash.
