Will Rev A free up some bandwidth so us older evdo users can get faster upload speed? 128 isnt terrible but would like to think the cards and phones we have now can do more then that..but its just not setup to go faster at the moment. Would love to see this work

Agreed.

I would also like to see less latency. Trying to use VoIP or IP-Sec VPN over the VZW Broadband PC Card is painful at times. I often get 200-300ms latency with their 1x-EVDO offering.

It's technically not an issue of "freeing up bandwidth", but EVDO Rev. A does support much faster upload speeds: 1.8 Mbps. You'll need a Revision A card on a Revision A network to get that, but it is coming.

I was refering to the older Rev 0. All of us that have a 6700 or pc card ect...what kinda of upload speed can we expect from rev A. Do the phones now really cap out around 128kbps ? or is that only due to the tower not being able to go faster..and if so would we get more then 128 off the current phoneswhen rev A kicks in.

EVDO Release maxes out at a theoretical 144 Kbps on the uplink. The advent of Revision A on the network won't change that for Release users.

The uplink in r0 is essentially 1xRTT. It's part of an EVDO connection, but the uplink part of the EVDO r0 spec is identical to 1xRTT. They only improved the downlink when they created r0.
