come up with what?

SBC bought out AT&T which later changed their name to AT&T, instead of SBC. then AT&T (formely known as SBC) bought out BellSouth.. the name will stay AT&T.

thus; T, SBC and BellSouth are one company.

It's official. The boards of SBC and AT&T have approved the sale of AT&T to SBC for about $16 billion."

"BREAKING! - AT&T to buy BellSouth for $67 billion. AT&T will soon be the big Ma Bell it once used to be. Ah yes, the glory days of a monopolistic telecom industry. The "Cingular" brand will also be phased out as part of this deal (in favor of te AT&T brand). Verizon, a competitor will be certainly be dwarfed as a result of this huge deal"

thus; T is one company combining, SBC, BLS and ATT.
