I'm not saying Motorola invented the thin phone concept, but can Samsung come up with an original thought on their own rather than simply doing everything Motorola does.

I like the phone.

There are only so many ways to design a phone. They are bound to step on each others toes.

Besides, it was only Motorola U.S. that first introduced the "skinny" phone here. Nokia has had them for years in the European market.

I thought it was Sanyo who brought the first "thin" phone to the U.S.? The 10mm thick (or should I say...thin) Sanyo 6000; FCC Approved it in Feb. 2001, according to this very site. I don't know which Motorola came before Feb 2001 that would be equal (haven't searched enough, I suppose)

But really, why do people always say that Samsung is copying Motorola? They're simply keeping up with the competition. At least they're not making it look exactly the same; there are other companies that are actually making thin phone with the same looking keypad as the RAZR/SLVR. So, go yell at them.

I guess the same people would say that Ford (and others) has copied Chevrolet/GM's Suburban line with their Excursion......the Suburban came first, a...

I LOVED my Sanyo 600!!! I still have it if anyone wants it (SPRINT PCS)...and yes, IT was the FIRST slim phone of its kind.

Yo, how can I get a fat phone? Lemme get a Nokia 6680, forget all this slim stuff. I have a Samsung D500 and thought it was tiny, now I have people saying "that's a hefty phone". WTF?

raulr, you must work or love motorolas.
all motorolas skinny phones(v3 and slvr) are no where good as samsung's t809 and 900.
all motorolas did was to make it look good but it sucks period.
everyone who had razor can agree wit me when i say their software is horrible.

Which is even MORE of a headache 🙂 Software for current moto's is bad but at least it's customizable!

I'd rather deal with a GUI I can use, rather than tear my hair out fathoming Moto's software.
