Sure they'll get a 1.8X boost, but reduce your battery from like 2600 to 1800 before they give the boosted battery and reduce the benefit to the paying customer.

Very good. You know how these evil globalist corporations work. 😈 You're exactly right, if they double battery life, they will cut the size of the battery in half so you gain nothing, but charge you 50% more to buy it. I'm betting that this "breakthrough technology" will fizzle into nothing. I remember almost 20 years ago hearing about the "breakthrough" potassium ion battery and how it was going to be a game changer. Well, that invention went nowhere. I am betting this latest invention goes the way of the potassium ion battery as well.

Where would it benefit the corporations to do that? Wouldn't it benefit them more to be able to advertise "double battery life".

Even if they did cut the battery size in half you still gain a lighter/slimmer phone and/or more space internally for more memory, processors etc.

Why not ask the corporations that question? But in the past they HAVE done just that.

Phones are light and slim enough. Many of us are willing to bear with a little more heft to get some useful functionality. I, for one would welcome a flagship with a slide-out physical keyboard.

Which will inevitably consume more power, which in this particular scenario would not be available. So, what would be the point of adding those things?

🙂 I like your demeanor. You're a 'glass half-empty' type of person.

Probably the Potassium Ion deal worked so good that they knew they'd never sell and aftermarket battery made in China again.
