All I can say is HAHAHAHEHEHEHOHOHO. Yotaphone? Indiegogo? 100 units. Who in their right mind thinks this will be successful? One screen with e-ink?

Not bashing or trying to be negative and I wish them the best, but some ideas just have failure written all over them. This one is just doomed from the start. Could not stop laughing reading this article. Of course this is just one man's opinion and what do I know.

I know right, who would ever bother to come up with something unique or original to standout from a sea of black slabs. I'm sure the millions of people carrying both an e-reader and a smartphone around with them probably think its a stupid idea too but obviously you read a lot on your phone.

If I were to read on my phone I use the screen that is better!! If I have that nice phone why would I want to switch to another screen? Which is why this idea makes no sense to me. Seems like the more inventive idea would be to come up with a better battery life for the better screen. or better yet had a way to turn the power consumption down on the regular screen when in "reading" mode. So sure this makes it different but it does nothing I could not do on regular phone so it is not at all unique. My opinion.

E-ink is the best electronic reading option, especially for those of us who don't have great eyesight, and who are likely to suffer eyestrain and headaches from reading off an LCD screen This is why I still use my first generation nook and still use my Kindle Paper-White.. For me, a phone with an e-ink screen would be ideal.

I don't understand your complaint here. The first generation of this phone has gotten great reviews, and it has been popular with its intended market. If it's not the phone for you, fine, that's why the smartphone market has so many different sizes, form factors and so on so that everyone can have something that is appropriate for their needs.

How about we agree to live and let live? People who want a ph...

Who is complaining? Who is hostile? I was simply posting my opinion that it is a doomed to fail idea. It may be a great idea, but I don't see the market. Also a Yotaphone? Seems like they could have come up with much better name. Also how is it popular with the intended market when they only are selling 500 of them!!!

In fact I mentioned in my first post I was not trying to be negative but did not see the logic. Even if this phone is great for reading books I don't see much of a market for those who want a phone to also double as e-reader. Again just my two cents.

PS: Maybe the next version could be the ChewBaca phone.

It has actually been fairly successful, with many reviewers saying that this was the phone that the Kindle Fire Phone should have been.

OK. Define successful? Selling maybe a few hundred phones? I don't think that is successful. More power to them if they can do something others were not able to and make a niche for themselves.

BTW this is not the first dual screen phone. Samsung made a couple of dual screen phones a while ago. So this is not something new and not very useful.

This guy has got to be an apple guy, how can you not see how useful this is...I don't even read and to me this is cool as hell, I would love to be able to check the time weather news and maybe I would read more if it didn't hurt so much...go pound your fanboy items, people that come up with ideas are innovative, not people that steal them and pretend like that is revolutionary.

Nope. Never owned an Apple. Samsung, HTC and LG are only brands I have owned. I did get an iPod for my daughter once so I guess I am a fanboy. It is called personal preference. I don't need an e-reader on the back to check weather and news. I do that on the color screen. I remember when screens used to be just black and white then this new fangled invention called color screens comes out. I find e-readers hard to read and don't like them. Alot of people are like me.
