But what happens after the two weeks when you aren't happy? Then you must port your numbers back to Verizon and pay activation fees. Actually this is probably good for Verizon. Not to promote churn but I foresee more new acts in my future!

If they port back, and 95% of customers who are unsatisfied will want to keep their same number, they will be considered "winback customers" and put on their old rate plan and pricing with no activation fees. This doesn't count as a new activation, more so a "continue where you left off" activation with the same account and tenure. Usually only available to do within 14-30 days from the initial switch. However I'm not sure if they will honor the remaining installments on Edge agreements. If they continue those business as usual, or if since they "technically" cancelled service, albeit temporarily, the Edge installments become due in full. Something that I should ask my Verizon rep.

Source: I sell AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile.

This would work if you're near end of your contract, and thinking of switching, yeah they'll pay termination fee's, and re-activation fee's. But TMO also take's your VZW phones, so if you decide its not for you, then you're on the hook for buying new devices.

Not exactly. T-Mobile holds the Verizon phones for the trial and gives them new devices, (that the customer will purchase). T-Mobile only keeps the phones if the customer agrees to stay with them and purchase new devices (through T-Mobile) after the trial is complete. Should the customer want to switch back, T-Mobile gives back the Verizon devices and they can switch back.
