Of course. Certain aspects of the Government would grind to a halt without RIM.
Oh yes. Because there aren't any alternatives out on the market. π
Anyone care to disprove? π
It seems that the Government is delaying it to help them.
I'm willing to bet, even if it wasn't a perfect system, most customers would bear with it.

RIM even said they have a contingency plan.
Even if they do have a plan, it has not been proven that their fix does not infringe on NTP's "patents". I would be preparing for a worst case scenario if I were in the government's shoes.

Very creative. I was alluding to the fact that right now...this very minute...millions of government employees depend on RIM. Let's see a bureaucracy this size come up with an instantaneous alternative. Commence rolling those eyes right back up in your head. Thanks.

i think they (ntp) are nolonger in it for money for themselves but to stop RIM from making money. although this is big business it sounds like two friends that cant agree on a way to breakdown the money between eachother because rim wants to under pay them for what they are worth. just like asking someone to do side work on your car that should be worth $50 bucks but you only want to pay in the $30 dollar range. that person will be pissed and do a $30 buck job. so you'll have to get it fixed again.
