I disagree. A unique shape is one thing, but a lot of people highly value premium materials and craftsmanship. People prefer metal and glass phones for the same reason not everyone that wears a watch wears a plastic Timex.

I see. So, your phone could be shaped like a pot and that would be fine, as long as premium materials were used? Or is shape just as important to aesthetics after all? And if aesthetics really have the value you say, then why not give this a chance? I would remind you that it hasn't been that long since the original iPhone was released; and before that no one gave a flip what material their phone was made out of. If glass and metal caught on so quickly, who's to say that curved phones won't catch on as well?

As a fellow musician to Eric, would he accept a wireless guitar system where he couldn't change the battery on the transmitter? How bad would that suck in the middle of a gig in front of a huge packed venue? Just revert back to a 25' cord? So much for stage presence.
Or how about a $450-$700 wireless vocal mic that he couldn't change the battery?
And you. What if you can't get to the battery on your car? No problem, just being it to the dealer and pay extra cash.
Can't replace the battery on your $250-$300 OEM entertainment system remote? Just purchase a new remote?
