Silly William, laptops are for the underprivileged

I have doubts that a smart phone would have the durability to withstand the same amount of bashing that a laptop could take. Cell phone networks are the ideal means of delivering internet access, but it would be much easier and practical to throw cell capabilities into a durable, full-sized laptop.

Since when can laptops take the bashing you're talking about?

I don't think either has the advantage. I was just commenting on the fact laptops cannot take any type of beating. They're just as fragile as smartphones.

I see your point, but personally, I would choose a laptop over a smart phone. The fact that the smart phones have smaller screens, are easier to lose, and more difficult to repair than laptops would be enough for me to stay away from them. Either way it will potentially give millions the opportunity to access the internet.

No, seriously dude, there's such thing as an iBook Clamshell. It looked like a fruity toilet seat and was damn well near industructible. Go google it. 🙂
