Microsoft Proposing Cellphone As Computer For Underprivileged

Couldn't any company other than Microsoft propose this? I mean, they are poor, but that doesn't mean their computers have to crash.

On a more serious note, using SMS for internet access? Sheesh! Three years ago having a web browser was an extra.... it shouldn't be that hard/expensive by now.

WAP had an option to function over SMS. Yes, its nasty, resource intenstive, but it works for very small pieces of text. A typical WAP page would consume about 10-15 messages or so.

I think it's safe(er) to say Microsoft is getting pretty good on NOT making software that crashes. Particularly Windows. I use Windows XP Professional at work, and my system's never crashed.
