Deutsche Telekom has already said that they do not wish to sell T-Mobile USA at all and that they are in fact planning an investment of over 6 billion dollars into TM USA this year. As far as regional GSM carriers, the only one worth mentioning is Cellular One with Dobson Communications and they aren't big enough to matter. Cingular has just merged with the only viable way for any major company to buy their way into the American market in GSM.

Vodafone may be forced to buy a million tiny GSM companies......or even worse, have to build their own infrastructure.
