Kind of an unbeatable combination: Great phones, service and prices. Go Steelers.

There is only one problem... T-Mobile would be great, if it worked for a darn where I'm at. Oh well, can't have everything

You can say that again. I haven't never been with any other carrier besides T-Mobile. My first phone was activated on Voicestream for Prepaid. Then they changed their name and I stayed with them. Now, I have a plan with them since 2002, and I love them. I love hearing the cheerful reps, well female reps that is, that say "Thank you for calling T-Mobile where you always "Get More". How may I help you today?"

And that's why i'm not arguing with you Yetta, it's just my personal opinion. I've used sprint, verizon, att/cingular, and currently have nextel. yeah, i'm biased because i work for nextel, but att/cingular sucked, and t-mobile doesn't work well in our area, but that's also because we aren't one of their markets. What works for you may not always work for everyone else. Just my 2 cents 😁

I would be interested in why you say this. I have Nextel, which has been OK (not great but not too bad either) until about two months ago. Now it sucks really bad. It could be the phone but I have had to exchange phones too often with them so I am going to switch to T-Mobile or Verizon in a month or so. Therefore if you could tell me why T-Mobile sucks it may help me decide.

Stoked? No! But I am happy with T-Mobile and glad I moved from Verizon but that's another topic.

I would love to hear why you say this. I am trying to decide to go with T-Mobile or Verizon Wireless. I am always looking for the good and bad on each. I do understand it does depend on the area you are in. I am in the Northern VA area and would have to say the Nextel is mediocre at best. Latley I have been having a lot of problems with reception so I am switching soon. Any info would be appreciated.

I am so glad that we are getting more devices like these. I admit that T-mobile is slow to get new phones, but I also think that it is better than Cingular, who puts out phones, as quickly as they discontinue them.

They are just loosing money IMO, just to get the exclusive and beat T-Mobile. I wonder if the Cingular higher-uppers actually have T-Mobile or any other competitor for their cell phone service.

I had predicted that
after EDGE launch, T-Mobile will run on fast lane
we see some nice phones (V360, T809, PEBL)
and some more coming (SDA, MDA, 6111, t709, T609, A910, and 4 nokias, 1SE, 5 motos)
3G after spectrum auction
UMA launch
and...possibly Suncom acquiston

OK, Pardon my ignorance here, but...is there anyway for these mobile 5 phones to be compatible with a mac for syncing, etc? Does MissingSync handle that? I want to change to T-Mobile from VerizonSuccubus but it means parting with my beloved Treo.

It's not impossible, we (oops) um sold the treo 600... You don’t have to buy a phone that T-Mobile sells, just one that works with our service. It's a huge misconception in the industry that you can only us the phones from the service provider. i would be cautious where you get the phones from but look out for the treo 650 (don’t think they make the 700 GSM yet???).

T-Mobile operates on GSM 1900MHZ (sim cards)
just find any unlocked phone that uses those requirements

To the best of my knowledge that phone is able to be used with T-Mobile, as an option for Mac users who can't use the Windows based PDAs

It can as long as its an "unlocked" GSM version. They can even use Mobi-Tv on it with T-Mobile. But, no other phone will work on Mobi-Tv from T-Mobile, atleast until they do an agreement.

Every major carrier in the US has an agreement with them, but T-Mobile doesn't. I hope they do soon.

Here is the one where people can get the service if they have a Treo 600 or Treo 650:

thats good to know, from the service stand point, does the customer have to have full GPRS service to access the content? or is it just billed as 3rd party content?

They recommend that you have the T-Mobile Internet plan, instead of T-Zones for data since it uses data, and with T-Zones, some ports may be closed. On Cingular though, you NEED an unlimited data plan since they charge by MB usuage.

I had Mobi-TV on my Verizon Treo. It worked great but you MUST have the unlimited data plan, obviously. It eats insane data. But the content at this point is, pretty much, nonsense. Pretaped junk. At this point its a very cool gimmick.

I guess thats a good thing about T-Mobile, for $20 it's unlimited GPRS access but still useless if its the content sucks

OK, but help me out. What would have to happen...if I wanted to go there...in getting a windows based pda to work with my mac? Does MissingSync make that connection? Or does it simply not work. I love the Palm operating system, but an unlocked Treo is pretty pricey.

I heard that too, since they had issues with the T610. But its strange they would work with a company for the data card, but not the phones too.
