I really hope they just don't come up with a remake for the mobile. Also, that they don't charge you for unlocking stuff... since when did it become acceptable to pay for unlocking characters and items?

I am all for them moving into mobile gaming...but there's no way that mobile gaming will ever be as good as console gaming or PC gaming. Not only are touchscreen controls fairly limited, but the size and scope of games are limited as well. There is no way that a game like The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess or Super Mario Galaxy could ever work in mobile.

- GTA
- CoD
- Taletale's interactive series.
- Minecraft

Just a few examples of "console" games that have succesfully made the transfer to mobile platforms. The controls for Zelda and Mario games are not that complicated, and if you add perihperal support it's just a matter of downscaling the graphics to pull it off.

My main concern is what this means for Nintendo's portable console market and development (3DS). How will they be able to juggle that?

I don't think Nintendo needed to move to mobile gaming at all, just get some goddamned consoles with state of the art technology to finally comp

Call of Duty and GTA are both pretty dumbed down games, especially on mobile. Neither of them have particularly deep storytelling. Zelda games however have an extremely complex mythology that would never translate to mobile.

What you think it is about storytelling that is conducive to consoles and not to mobile devices?

Also, has anyone every considered that the future for mobile gaming is in streaming the content to your TV while the controls remain on your mobile device?
