I agree that the most important thing about choosing a wireless service is the ability to make and recieve calls. The more places that you can make and recieve calls is/SHOULD be the number one factor in determining which provider you go with.
I guess I am just older (32) and remember when I needed to lift weights just to be able to carry my brick of a cell phone around with me. No LCD screens, just a 14 digit LED readout
Phones are for making calls. All the other stuff that comes with it no matter how "crippled" is still a bonus in my opinion.
I dont think it will be too long before other carriers follow in Verizon's footsteps and start limiting functions and even having a standard UI on all their phones.
