Network Cost

by nosoupforyou    Jan 6, 2006, 12:11 PM

As with all technology, you pay a premium for being the first to use it. Vcast and related features are a bit high at the moment because Verizon has to pay for the freshly built data network. If they went to the trouble of making a faster network but didn't make money from it, what would justify them building another in the future? (except maybe for competition) Sprint's charges are not much different from Verizon's and I would expect Cingular's charges to also be the same. So until the carriers get more competitive, get used to the prices.
