Too bad it uses WMA. That pretty much puts ipod users out since it wont play em. I know you can convert it into mp3 or aac but then you loose alot of quality.....
I agree that AAC woulda been a MUCH better choice. MP3 not so much, 'cus there's no DRM with mp3?(that's what AAC is for, I think.. also allegedly sounds slightly better).
I guess VZW didn't really think it thru when they teamed up wit' Microsoft.. if I did pay for a VCAST music track, I would want to play it ANYWHERE.. phone, PC, iPod, etc. WMA makes it a non-starter for me.
The better question is: Why would anyone that already has an ipod pay Verizon to download these songs? All one has to do is put the music from their iTunes onto their memory card and it plays on their phone. Why bring another software into it thereby making it more complicated?
That's a good point.. iTunes is cheap, user-friendly, an' has a bigger selection than anybody but the pirate P2P networks.
Do most phones play AAC files tho', or do ya have to convert them to mp3 first? iTunes downloads are AAC.
