Verizon Holiday Phones

I would be embarrassed to release such a nice phone with a crippled interface.
The iPhone was good for the competition. It inspires the manufacturers to cater to the fancies of the American public.
Now that the technology has advanced sufficiently, lets combine it all into one device and call it the veal chop.
delicious

1) AT&T cripples everything they releaseby putting it on that joke they call a network.
2) I'd really like to understand why you feel the UI has been "crippled"?
I understand that they do cripple the obex bluetooth profile. However to be honest that's a contractual requirement by the Get It Now vendors. They don't want people sharing thier ringtones and applications so they require that VZW disable obex. And yse Dialup is usally disabled but it doesn't even require you to hack the phone to turn it on. just a series of keystroks such as ##dialup on te moto's and VZW will even tell you now how to turn it on.
Thos are bluetooth profiles though and not UI's...

I once bluetoothed a song from my phone to a commie VZW phone. It took seriously 5 whole minutes to find the song. Then, to top it off, you could not apply that song as a ringtone, set it as an alarm, or send it to anyone else.
That is just one example. The user interface is old and outdated and has remained unchanged for years and years and years.
Its as worthless as an old Chevy Chase movie. It should be taken out back and shot.
PUT IT OUT OF ITS MISERY

I had forgotten about the "can't set as ringtone". Then again my e815 doesn't block that. And some of the lg phones don't block that either. but a lot of them do. btw if you bt's the song over then that means up unlocked obex. If you unlocked obex then you should have been able to drop the file into the ring tones folder instead of the sounds or music folder ... but yeah that's an issue.
Yeah the UI is old and could use a facelift. And i think little more than what little they did to the 10k is warranted. I just don't see it as all that much worse than th UI's from the other pones out there. Again i'm a person whose main focus is performance n...

Many of the features of a, lets say, moto phone are disabled or lost when the interface is stardardized.
It brings the higher end phones down and compensates for poor design in the less feature laden phones.
I have noticed on 95% of VZW phones that the OBEX is disabled.
The ONLY people in the world that benefit from such a UI are old ladies and business end users.
I work in this industry. Cell phones are my livelyhood. To me, UI is important.

So i'm more of a "does it work? yeah? great. is it pretty? No? who cares it works." kinda guy.
and yeah obex is always disabled cause its required by some of vzw's vendors.
i've never had an issue getting vzw coverage anywhere i've been so far.
T-Mobile is king 'round these parts.
I work for one of the other "big 4"
crippled UIs give me the heeby jeebies
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...(how do you think your parents hooked up?) (that was a joke)
The chocolate was a piece of doo doo. They had to update the entire phone because of the quality and workmanship. I personally know 8 (!) people that were upgraded for free because they exchanged this phone too many times.
VZW and ATT are overpriced.
In Phoenix, all coverage is the same. Even Cricket works well here. (except in the boonies, but thats for everyonw)
T-mo has great service.
Also if you get it to close to your face it mutes the call (i don't use mine for voice calls though)
The craplate 2 is a good deal better on it's presure interface.
Thankfully the Voyager does NOT use that same tecchnology!!!!!
T-mobile was ok where i USED to live, then we moved into th new house and as i mentione before standing in the street out here to make a phone call bites.
Then again there are some places i know we have coverage issues .. everyone has spots it jsut seemed that t-mobile and at&t have more of them and they...

Yeah verizon may not be the cheapest, but you're paying for reliable, dependable service that hasn't let me down so far. It's always there for me no matter what.
What do you mean by the craplate 1.0? I'm confused. hahha. Are you referring to the chocolate?
I wonder how the Voyager's touch screen will react when you put your face up to it to talk on the phone. Will the screen automatically deactivate then light up again when it senses your face not being there?
it would be tight to have a phone like that for T-mo.
Soon i will rejoice when big brother vacates the 1700Mhz and T-mo has the sprectrum to compete with the other "big 3"
I think they are doing a great job considering they have half the "juice" as the other big 3.
the 10k's touch screen it toatly diffrent though and it doesn't suffer the same problems. At least it didn't for the little while i got to play with one.
