First they're not going to follow TMO & ATT with data roll over. Now they're raising prices for activation's & upgrades.
They're really trying to win customers over with their "We're the best and most expensive. Take it or leave it" motto.

Pretty much industry standard. I don't think they charge upgrade or activation fees on their EDGE program.

Industry standard my rear end! Verizon finds new ways to squeeze their customers every day...and the best part? The sheep gleefully pay or make excuses like industry standard.

Everyone who has a viable alternative should drop Verizon to prove a point. Sadly they won't.

This isn't as much of a squeeze on their current customers as much as a transition to the EDGE program.

The EDGE program offers no additional activation or upgrade fee when signing up for the programs. The easiest way to build value around your new programs and to get more people to transition over to them is to raise the rates on the old programs.

It's a lot easier to analyze the facts with a rational understanding of the industry rather than calling people farm animals.

You are right. It's not fair to the sheep and any other farm animal I may use to compare the typical Verizon customer to.

Koolaid drinking, gullible, money hating clowns. Is that better or do I run the risk of offending circus performers?

No risk, you just compromise your own integrity.

It is the standard, atnt has been 35-40$ for years so Verizon understands they can get away with to now.

AT&T has been $40 for months while Sprint still hangs out at $36. T-Mobile charges $15 for a sim card if necessary up from $10.

Yep, the costs were killing me, I dumped verizon and went prepaid with PagePlus, using the same network with no contracts and less than half the bill, it works for me.

Yep, don't compete to give your customers at least competitive rates and features, as was already mentioned, but instead increase fees. That sounds wonderful.

I love when their salespeople pull up my account with UNLIMITED DATA and know I'm NOT buying ANYTHING they are selling! I use the heck out of my data now and my teenage son uses 50gb a month!

In total agreement with Andy. They are so smug & pompous especially that Fran Shammo. No etiquette or decorum from that guy or Verizon towards their customers.....& with AT&T to pass them & to become largest cell carrier this year (currently at 125M to 119M) Every new GM will be equipped with AT&T for data. That & AT&T's competitive policies, pricing & equally good customer service & a network that is nipping at VZW's heels too. Good for Big Blue!

In actuality Verizon isn't even always the most expensive. The 10GB plan for 4 lines is actually 140 while at&t still have it set at the original 160.
