Verizon Says No Data Rollover Programs In Its Future

I have never complained about companies implementing what others innovated to keep up the competition. What I think is ridiculous is the companies that act all high and mighty when someone else innovates then they implement their "innovation" which are someone else's ideas with some tweaks here and there.

Bottom line is, whatever you do if done with a bad or arrogant disposition, even something innovative, will spoil the whole purpose.

Someone should take Verizon and Apple's high horse a peg or two.

We shall see when their stock price decides to take a hit.

This is where AT&T will have the advantage as they venture out into other avenues for connected devices. The Directv purchase, Digital Life home security (which I absolutely love!) Connected Car, ect...

I switched to AT&T years ago because I felt Verizon nickel and dimed their customers. When I did they took more of a consultative role in my needs and from there on kept me in the loop on products that might serve my needs better. Verizon sold me phones and said thank you we'll see you again when you're ready to upgrade. Never regret leaving and have had nothing but positive experiences with them.

Because AT&T did a poor job copying the offer. It only rolls over for 1 month and then expires. T-Mobiles expires after 12 months. If you're going to copy the offer, do it fully, or not at all. Like Verizon is doing because they are by far the most anti-consumer company available, yet even after verbal proof that they don't give a damn about you, people will still vouch for them.

Firstly ATT didn't copy Tmobile. Data rollover was already planned prior to Data Stash by Tmob.

Secondly, the one bill cycle life was deliberate to avoid the pitfalls encountered and lessons learned in the rollover minute wars of the past.

Thirdly, ATT rollover data is shared, Tmobile data stash isn't.

So you're saying you would rather have your company stand back and not give you any options??? If that's how you want them to "have your back" they're doing a pretty darn good job of it!

I am a pretty big supporter of at&t having had them for 5 years now after many years with Verizon. I can tell you that the customer service I receive is 10x better than anything I got with Verizon. I love that they are giving me an extra month with my data instead of saying "We don't find value in giving our customers options!" The key word for Verizon has always been WE!

the way i want them having my back is providing me service, i barely use my mobile data, if i need to use the internet i have wifi, i have wifi everywhere so i have no need for it. if i had AT&T wouldnt have it either, not on a share plan nor do i plan on switching to one.

i work for aT&T and i like the company as well but just dont plan on switching pricing is not that much diffent i may be saving and i use the edge/next plan and i like Verixons better any way

There's a considerable amount of risk and potential cost to a 12 month roll over, so I can't blast AT&T for not doing that. With the 12 mo roll over someone could just dramatically up their plan for one month (to get the lowest cost per GB) then drop down to a minimal amount for the next 11 months while burning off the banked data. This would lower the APU and if enough customers got wise to this it would have a significant financial impact.

With a 1 mo roll over the customer still needs to be in a plan sized to their data needs. You're only forgoing potential overage fees if something out of the ordinary happens in their lives and they end up going over on their data. its capped just ike the rollover minur=tes were so if someone gets say the 50Gb plan one months then downgrades say to the 20Gb, the most they would have...no matter what the remaining data would be, would be the 20Gb, its listed somewhere in the fine print

at&t didn't actually 'copy the offer' made by T Mobile......when they were accused of doing so, at&t made the unprecedented move of releasing internal documents which prove that they had plans to announce a data rollover plan in January BEFORE T-Mobile made their announcement.

On the Data Rollover if you change plans the amount of data you have saved is lost. In the terms and conditions it states this. So will only rollover if you stay on the same plan.

Also to touch on the lower tier data packages really don't save any money. Look at it this way you use on att 4 gigs on the family plan so in just in case you buy 6 gigs plan. The data costs 70 dollars the per person for 4 people is 25 dollars that's 170 per month. It saves more to buy the 10 gigs where it costs 100 bucks but per person is only 15 bucks making it 160 a month. Even if you never use that data much better plan.
