Go with Sprint...Verizon SUCKS!!

For the best music experience..go with Sprint. They don't cripple software in their phones. Sprint music is amazing..download mp3's to phone and PC. Or you can listen to streaming audio..like XM Radio and MSPOT radio. The quality is amazing. Verizon is behind and is not doing much with their EVDO service. I can watch LIVE TV on my phone and have CD quality radio and its an MP3 player. Verizon has only video clips and no streaming music. Plus bluetooth is crippled. They put their own software in all their phones now so they can control it all....forget VERIZON !!

Just an observation.

Great observation..here is my answer.. I agree making calls in your house is important..did you know that Sprint will roam on Verizon's network with the touch of a button with no roaming charges? I can even set my Sprint phone to pick up ONLY Verizon's signal. Plus their plans are much cheaper. I can name plenty of homes too where Sprint gets a signal and Verizon does not. It's all relative.

I get a Sprint signal in my house. It all just depends on topography, infrastructure, location, and tower position...

Hmmm... Sprint. Oh, that's right, that's a company you can't make a call with! I'm very happy that you're excited about your beloved Sextel, but when I need an ad, I'll go to their website.

People don't NEED the MP3 and BT and EVDO out of thier PHONE. if you didn't get it - reread my post.

First off..read my reply to the other guy about making calls in your house. Second, you say people don't need bluetooth and EVDO. You are wrong..people could be saving money with EVDO if they knew how to use it. I got rid of my home dsl line and just send the evdo signal from my phone right to my laptop for unlimited broadband data. MP3..are u kidding?? Do you know how many IPOD's they sell..you can get this function right on your phone..a mini SD card now comes in 1GB plus the phones internal memory. Then you add in the streaming music and get more than an IPOD can offer. I had Verizon for a year and switched to Sprint..I see no difference in signal strength here in California. And..if i want the Verizon signal..all I do is change m...

I've had a Sprint phone and service before. I used to live on MA/NH border - trust me, there's no good Sprint coverage here. Also, the company FRIED my original phone trying to test it, and extended my contract without notifying me so I spent more then 4 hours talking to a dozen of customer service people when I decided to switch from Sprint after having their service for 2.5 years. I don't care about EV-DO junk if I can't use my phone.

Sorry you didn't have serivce in your area, it happens. But they are right about roaming onto Verizon w/o charges.

As far as extending your contract, I don't see how that is possible. You have to give your permission and sign a contract. Maybe there was a mistake, but either way, if they were at fault, they would fix it.

They did... After I spent 4 hours convincing customer service and managers, that I've never signed or agreed on a new contract... Weird. 😳

How can you say Sprint is the best music experience? Have you tried out this new Verizon service to compare it? I'll take a guess that you have not.

I can easily say it has the best music experience right now because IT DOES !! Go read any article that talks about it..try cnet.com. I'm glad Verizon is catching up with MP3 downloads..its only took them a year after deploying EVDO. They will still be behind even after this comes out..unless they get streaming music. Also..Sprint's EVDO speeds have been clocked faster then Verizon's.

Take a little glance at EV-DO coverage with Sprint and Verizon... 😳 notice any difference??? You'll see that for the first month the VZ music store is open, the amount of downloaded songs will beat Sprint's...

based on coverage maps and number of EVDO sites, I'm at work now with crippled internet access but I'll pull up some links for ya tomorrow

what are you talking about? I just went to sprint's site because i was curious. Sprint's map is a joke. I was interested in their evdo coverage, I am assuming that is the sprint power vision coverage? not for sure but if it is it is lacking greatly compared to Verizon's if you have chacked out any of verizon's evdo maps that is not more than a year old.

Sprint's EV-DO map is not updated as often as it should. I get EV-DO coverage virtually the whole way from Boston to Worcester, MA with only a slight, few second 1x blip near Framingham. Does the coverage map reflect that? Not really. And from from Worcester to Fitchburg, MA it's nearly completely built out. Coverage map doesn't reflect that either.

They're expanding at extraordinary speeds. I won't say it's bigger than Verizon's, but it's more than sufficient for me. Everywhere I go in MA often (Worcester, Marlborough, Fitchburg, and Westfield) I have EV-DO.

Oh, and my phone is in Sprint PCS Only mode and I don't remember the last time I've seen my phone search for service.

Guys..as of now Verizon has more EVDO coverage then Sprint. They have had it for a year and wanted to be the first to develop it..I went to the launch party in San Diego. However, in just a short time Sprint has launched several markets and will catch up. My point is Verizon has had this service and has chosen not to use it to its full potential. Instead they cripple phones and charge more then any other carrier for their service. If you are in the market for EVDO and great voice plans..Sprint cannot be beat. Yes there are exceptions..mainly geography..that could dictate using another carrier. But with Sprint...u get Verizon roaming coverage. Great combo !! As for the comment about Verizon downloading more mp3's then Sprint...of cou...

molsky99, as a fellow Sprint user, let me recommend you to just shut up. You're doing a great job of making us Sprint users look stupid. I'd rather not be affiliated with the likes of you.

Seriously, get your facts straight and don't speculate on anything since Verizon hasn't even come out with so much as a price point for their service.

Someone mentioned Sprint being cheaper..

isn't ARPU the average bill per customer? Isn't Sprint/Nextel the highest? Doesn't this mean that their prices are generally higher?

Also I don't know where your all from but.. 400 minutes in Philadelphia is $34.99 and that DOESN'T include Mobile to Mobile. thats another 5$.

BASIC ACCESS POWER VISION is ANOTHER $15. (Same as verizon) so I am loosing where people are saying Sprint is cheaper.. LASTLY.. 100 sms messages is $5 (only $3 with Verizon).

PS: Music downloads are rather expensive with Sprint the last I heard.. it was something like $3 a song? Please update me on that and let me know if its still that expensive..
