While I'm usually not in favor of consolidation in the wireless industry, I have always griped that high-end android devices don't have physical keyboards. I would welcome a slide-out blackberry style keyboard on something like a Note.

Does this mean the stock that I paid $80 for and is now $12 will be $80 again.

Ha.

After accounting for the company's debt, its more like $14 a share. BlackBerry should probably jump at this as they're burning through cash and are unlikely to get any other significant offers. I'm pretty surprised Samsung was willing to offer this much for it.

My guess is that BlackBerry becomes one of Samsung's brands, along side their Galaxy branding, allowing them to make a line of corporate focused Android devices. That's been a very neglected market niche. I think those could sell quite well and would have a MUCH bigger margin than their consumer focused products.

Oh well. I can keep dreaming about that stock since this story isn't true.
