Don't know what you can do about the spam, but you can set limits on the size of the files you receive in e-mail. If you get one with a big attachment, you can choose to download the whole message or just wait and check it on a PC.

I get spam in my POP3 account, but I have to wait until I can get to my PC to mark them as spam so my e-mail service can filter them in the future.
