4G time. .. My thoughts.

it is time for 4g!

wimax is pretty interesting technology to me, but no one has any idea how it will perform in a true environment instead of in the labs. i still think that many carriers will start to test many other technologies, but the problem is, i dont think they have enough spectrum to launch it in the cities to get an roic on the investment. cingular obviously is doing umts/hsda, while verizon is doing ev-do rev O and REV A. the only other company that has plenty of spectrum to deploy any 4g technology is sprint/nextel eventhough they already are going from DO rev o to rev a.

i think it comes down to flarion, td-cdma, and wimax. if wimax is true on what the speeds and the signal lengths can travel then it will be a very huge...

well 4g is a lot better than 3g, and i feel that it is better to discuss the things that will happen in the future then things right now..

3g already has been launched in the united states;

1. cingular has umts/hsdpa
2. verizon with ev-do REV O; they mentioned A
3. sprint with ev-do rev O; A next
4. alltel is even getting on the ball also with DO.

the only carriers who dont have 3g
1. Tmobile becuase they dont have any spectrum

---------

4g is the way to go as well as to look in the future, 3g is happening now.

4g is a lot better then 3g and that is why i am mentioning 4g.

I agree with VR. It's much too early to talk about 4g. Since there is not a current ratified 4g implementation plan, it's all speculation. It's like counting your chickens before they've hatched.

And I'd like to see 3g fully implemented and bulletproof before I even hear talk of 4g. Moving just a little too fast, folks.

Not really. Several countries have had 3G for a while. So in reality it is time to talk about it. Shame our networks are so far behind... 😕

i agree.

3g shouldnt be talked about a lot now, 4g should be becuase as mentioned before its faster data speeds, lower latencies and the more things you can do on 4g than 3g.

What the hell is the point when 3g isn't even close to being fully realized over here? We're not even seeing the outer limits yet. Learn to spell "becuase".

well thats ok if you agree with him, i dont, and i think everyone should think of technologies that are 4g an upgrade from 3g to deploy to continue to give the consumers better products and solutions.. 3g to me means nothing, but 4g means something.. you can do more things with 4g then 3g and thats where carriers who are very smart should look to deploy becuase 4g is where the future and the fun begins.

3g is here. 3g is NOW. Let's get it up and running and fullproof before we start thinking about the next data solution.
