Nokia?

So what's the point of putting the Nokia brand name on the phone if it isn't made by Nokia and doesn't use the series 40 operating system? This isn't going to get people to buy Nokia phones. It doesn't look anything like their other phones. And if Nokia's strategy is to broaden their phone selection, they didn't make a good first impression because that phone is hideous. Hopefully SK will be able to produce an appealing design and better specifications next time.

Nokia got caught with its pants down around its ankles in regards to EVDO...so they had to do SOMETHING to keep competitive while they work out the kinks in their EVDO armor. Everybody keep their pants on...yeesh.

Even so, it seems a bit odd to resort to slapping their name on someone else's handset. Oh well. Whatever floats their boat.

You don't understand. They HAD to resort to this or get left behind while they scramble around fixing their own EVDO lineup. I guess they felt this was the only way...it makes business sense anyway.
