when Rich first showed this phone it was 2 MegaPixels, why did that get changed?

The 6280 is 2 megapixels. The 6282 is 1 megapixel. It was never "changed".

It's no secret this is header for Cingular, and it's also no secret that they are also getting the N80.

My guess is that this was made 1 megapixel instead of 2 to make it more affordable and better differentiate it from the N80. The N80 and 6280/6282 are both high-end 3G sliders. This way there is more of a difference between them in Cingular's lineup. If you want the really high-end Nokia 3G slider, get the N80 with its 3 megapixel camera. For something more affordable, there's this. It makes perfect sense.

If it helps, despite being 1 megapixel, the 6282 can record VGA video. Yes - VGA - same resolution as TV and even better than VHS! 😳 The N80 can't even ...

i've been drooling over that 6280 ever since i saw it in that Moto/Nokia Summer Kickoff article i believe...

But then came the N80. I've never had a Slider, but the idea seems nice (i am a little worried about the screen). i just cant seem to stop playing with the slider's whenever i get the chance to play with them
