If you're really opposed
to government regulation of AT&T, then you should also be opposed to the government regulations that allowed AT&T to become the customer abusing monstrosity it is today.
But none of the AT&T lackeys on this website can ever be quoted for their hard line stance against how the current carrier oligopoly is ruining the market. You'll never hear them propose that these companies be busted up and the government regulations that prevent real competition from entering the market be removed. What regulations are you talking about? There is no such thing as laws that allow something, laws can only restrict things. If there is nothing restricting AT&T from "becoming the customer abusing monstrosity it is today" then there doesn't have to be regulations to allow it.

The subject was basically about government regulations that protect people from themselves. Which is essentially government spending money to prop up lazy/stupid people and welfare is another example of this. Not that big of a stretch.

Current regulations play favorites with large corporations and make it extremely difficult for startups to enter the market. One current case is the difficulty Google fiber is having expanding into areas dominated by AT&T and Comcast. I encourage you to read up on it.
