actually that was incorrectly reported by usa today - the ceo of cingular announced shortly thereafter that they would keep the cingular name for the wireless unit but that certain cities would see att wireless return as an MVNO

if that is true, it is just too confusing and i think a bad idea.. att wireless is a bad name and same with cingular.. perhaps changing the name all together or doing something else.

Let's just call them Cingtt. That way they can stop changing their name to evade creditors or angry customers or whatever it is that they are trying to hide from.

Whoa, buddy, please watch it.

IIRC, you've made many comments about Sprint and Nextel in threads that were not explicitly Sprint or Nextel or both related. We all have opinions, and that comment was not inappropriate. In many areas of the country, Sprint *and* Nextel are bad names. The same with Verizon. The same with T-Mobile. And Alltel. And Cingular.

Yes, the comment was somewhat off topic, but it was not inappropriate.

I feel the importance of letting people hold their opinions, even when I know they're wrong. 😁

It depends on where you go. Sprint, Nextel, and Verizon are all bad images in certain parts of the country.

The cingular ceo is just hacked that he has no control over the company. Bls and sbc OWN cingy the ceo doesn't.If Sbc and Bls wanna change the name of THIER company then that is totaly their right

that is true.. bell south and sbc have equal managerial responsiblity, however, cingular's ceo does have the right to make any changes he sees fits. the ceo does own cingular actually. (obviously not as much as bell south and sbc do but he still does)

but the ceo does have control over cingular.

True But if the creators of the comp. Thinks that it will benefitual to the comp The they have more control than the ceo. Granted stan is The head of cingular but he is second fiddle to the ceo's of sbc and bls
