I think with the recent celebrity nude photos controversy, photos which were accessed by hacking iCloud, it is safe assume that nothing which goes to the cloud is completely secure. The bottom line is that it still true that it is dumb to put anything you aren't comfortable being public online, even a personal cloud is not safe.
