WTF Verizon/FCC?

Forget reasonable, how is it even legal that Verizon can arbitrarily have any say in this??

It's just data on their network which we already pay for.

When will providers get it through their think skulls (not to mention, profits...) that they are "dumb" pipes for our data?

It's their network, they can allow or not allow what they want and there should be no law that requires companies from offering or not offering whatever they want (public/national security concerns aside).

That being said, it's probably not in Verizon's best interest to restrict something that a lot of their customers are interested in because they may lose them to other carriers. Go to a carrier that meets your needs rather than trying to get the government to force a company to meet your needs.

I concur completely the country would be much better off if people didn't demand government intervention to fix every minor inconvenience. If Verizon won't offer a particular service that you want and another carrier does, switch carriers, problem solved.
