why do we need to use voice over LTE, when you can just make a call over the air? I understand VOIP is useful.
...
its not VoIP, that wont be available for them for another year or 2, Tmobile and sprint are the only ones using VoIP
VoLTE is just gonna give a better connction, more clarity
...
spring and T-Mobile need VOIP since their service isn't on par like att and Verizon. I live in NJ, I have great connection and very clear and I have att.
they should just move up to LTE-Advanced, is even faster than LTE
...
i know that im saying that VoIP and VoLTE are not the same thing
VoIP is going to b through WiFi, VoLTE is going to obviously be through LTE with a compatible phone
i know at&t and vzw wont need VoIP they have great service for most of the country which is why theyre able to offer VoLTE
but i dont see any changes in speeds anytime soon as far as anything past LTE , carriers need to enhance LTE coverage more and really tone down the need for 2G and everything before, maybe even 3G
...
I agree. Even if it's a clearer connection, how much clearer could it really be? Seems like it will just take up more bandwidth on the LTE network that I thought was already a concern, which is why they throttle.
...
Verizon only throttles those users on Unlimited Data plans. So it is not a matter of conserving data. They will allow a person to use as much data as they like...
...as long as the meter is running.
This is understandable from a business perspective certainly. I just don't want to hear how Verizon is only trying to protect its network. BS. They are protecting their bottom line. Why they feel the need to lie about this is beyond me
...
I don't know what you're getting at. All I was saying is that the reason carriers give for throttling is to preserve bandwidth, which if that's indeed a concern then why are they trying to add phone calls to the data network as well.
...
his point is still valid verizon only throttles those who have unlimited data that reach a certain limit and are i believe the top 5% users but only when teh area is congested
...
That is my point. If the area is getting so congested that they have to throttle, then why are they going to congest it even more with calls going over the data network.
...
This is the only way one will be able to use Voice and Data Simultaneously on an iPhone on Verizon's network.
