I'm not a WSJ subscriber so I can't read about the patent - How did this patent troll deserve $300 million for a service that Apple pioneered? And why are services like Skype and Vonage not infringing?

Apple patent trolls everyone, it's good that turn-about is coming back to get them. Apple didn't pioneer this service as Skype came long before Facetime was even an idea proposed to Jobs to steal for his "innovated phone." 🤣

Well, he is right about one thing, Apple DID indeed 'pioneer' the practice of taking open source software which is free to everyone, producing an inferior, proprietary version of it with fewer features, proclaiming it 'better' and then charging up the wazoo for it.
