although i'm not Apple fan, they always get my kudos for this particular reason, I don't think any other company support their old devices with new software releases like Apple.

For iOS devices, yes you are correct, they do provide at least two years worth of updates, which is more than you usually get from Android OEM's.
For Mac OS X however they tend to cut off support very quickly. OS X Lion came out in 2012 and I believe that computers running Lion will be cut off future updates this year. Where Microsoft released Windows XP in 2001 and continued to provided updates until 2014.
