First question: Will the iphone 6/6+ for Verizon be capable of voice/data simultaneously, independent of the VoLTE?

No. It isn't. Every other manufacturer of 4G CDMA phones includes chips capable of Simultaneous Voice and Data. Apple is the problem.

You could do this with an iPhone on At&t. So no, it's not Apple but Verizon being dicks like normal.

While using voice and data on AT&T it's not LTE voice and LTE Data. It's GSM Voice/ LTE Data. Given the way GSM networks operate this works to their favor with the iPhone. However on a CDMA carrier this isn't possible without two separate radios. And with Apples obsession with thin and light they omitted having two radios in the iphone5/5S. Hopefully with the larger sizes they cram in two radios so Sprint/Verizon iPhone 6/6+'s will have dual voice and data capabilities And the exclusion for the phones to not do both is an apple decision. They never allow the carriers to dictate how their phones are designed.

Exactly. No one hates Evil Red more than me, but seriously some of these folks need to get Apple's *Bleep* out of their throat. What sense would it make for Verizon to prevent Voice and Data from working simultaneously on the iphone? What you think that they love AT&T having such a significant advantage over them? Of course, Apple is the problem.

not trying to support verizon/apple or whoever, but what exactly is the big deal for being able to talk and surf why is it such a big deal.

personally i never need it for 2 reasons: 1) what exactly is so important that if your on a call you have to look up somethin that instant and 2) theres wifi everywhere, if something was so urgent and your not at home where alot of ppl have wifi, most places offer it

No phones support using voice and LTE data at the same time. The data turns into HSPA when you are in a call.

Not exactly. With AT&T, that's an integral part of the 3GPP standards.

With Verizon, they're using the (less common) SVLTE standard to accomplish that. Apple hasn't made the investment to support SVLTE.

I mean seriously. Thank you for educating these people on the ridiculousness of suggesting that Verizon actually wants an inferior iphone experience.

Yes. I think all of the LG phones for the past few years, including the G2, G3, G Vista, and probably other LGs. The last rugged Casio did, and I'm sure other phones as well.

Are you serious. Is it that hard to implement? Both of my HTC ONEs new and old don't do that.
