Stop making phones bigger, you jerks!

Seriously, they just keep getting bigger, you can't operate them with one hand or fit them in pockets.

They are making them bigger because people want them to be bigger. If you are going to be doing serious web surfing, shopping, playing games, apps with a phone you want the screen size to be big enough to actually see what you're doing.

But there are ALREADY larger phones, from the same manufacturers. "People want large phones" is not a reason to make the small model larger. And you are at least partly wrong, because many people chose the smaller models.

Well, I have only my personal experience to draw upon, and I know that the plural of 'anecdote' is not 'evidence' however at my store people always seem to gravitate towards the bigger phones, rarely do people ask 'do you have one smaller?' but they always seem to ask 'do you have one that's bigger?' Just yesterday, I did an upgrade for a guy on Verizon, he was torn between the Galaxy S 5 and the LG G3, and he decided to go with the G3 precisely because it was bigger. One of our most popular models is the Galaxy Mega, we just cannot seem to keep that phone in stock, as soon as we get one, it is sold.

People really do seem to like the bigger phones, you can't blame the manufactures for making newer phones more like the ones that sell,...

I think I sold one since it released. Most people comment on how ridiculous it is. But no one also bought the Galaxy Mini or Droid Mini. Around 5" seems to be optimal for most people. Occasionally you'll have people who come from iPhone 4(S) complain, or even more so if they came from flip phones, but people definitely warm up to having a nice big screen that's easier to interact with in every way in terms of touching the screen for normal use. Is single-handed use really that important? Power users are going to be using both hands, except in a pinch.
