Don't obstruct the antenna...

with your hands. it's ok to put it near your mouth... by the way eric z all sprint phones have stickers warning you where the antenna is as to not obstruct it and in turn have a better call experience.

lol its a sanyo... basically to put it in better words...

keep the antenna and you have a sanyo
block the antenna and you have a samsung

...

Actually the antenna placement is exactly the same as the placement on the Samsung A900, which gets excellent reception as well.

As the OP said, don't block the antenna with your HANDS/FINGERS...they're not saying not to hold it near your face/mouth 🙄
