Nice, but hoping for better

I was hoping they would have done $50 a plan (since they were giving people $45 already) but it makes sense. They don't want to completly undercut the prepaid brands (all of which top out at around or just below $60).

It is a competitive price. And with Sprint offering no credit check options it could be a great deal. However if unlimited, my way is sticking around, contract might be a better deal sometimes. I haven't done the math yet, but getting an iphone 5s or galaxy s5 would be $87 a month on this new plan.

It's a great offer, and puts them in line with the competition in terms of cost.

I'd rather see some tiered plans in addition to. Let's knock the competition out and call it $35 for a GB, $45 for 3GB, and $55 for unlimited.

This will not right the ship.

It might be tiered. The unlimited data is $30 while the unlimited talk and text is $30 (making a $60 total, and employee discounts on $30 data).

Perhaps we'll see that soon?

It's also not an apples-to-apples comparison with T-Mobile like Sprint would like you to believe. That extra $20/mo on TMo gets you 5GB of tethering. Heck, if you're okay with going with metroPCS rather than T-Mobile proper, you can get $60 for unlimited everything right now, matching Sprint's offer (including the whole no tethering thing).

And Sprint's tethering prices don't take this disparity into account; the $20 difference between TMo and Sprint is erased when you add 2GB of tethering data. Granted, you can add/remove this as a plan feature, but on TMo's side you can revise your plan there anyway, though with them you're limiting your phone data rather than your tethering data as you get less expensive.

I agree. Comparing any network is never apples to apples. This is a good price. The hardcore user who tethers probably doesn't want or have Sprint anyways (or are using unofficial means to tether).

Why would anybody pay the carrier for tethering when you can get it for free? So guess that means that Sprint is still $20 cheaper. Nice try though.
