And yet it's still more money than I pay for 5GB with at&t under an older plan. With unlimited mobile to any mobile, they're almost exactly the same.

For the average single line, Prepaid is the way to go nowadays.
Verizon's prepaid plan is a better deal than their postpaid now and i never thought it'd see the day.

this is exactly the same as there prepaid plan, there prepaid plan is 45 for unlimited talk and txt with 500mb of data, $5 for 500mb extra so do the math its the same, plus you will get better customer service and cell service and there contract plans and a discount on the phone so this is actualy better then what any other carrier has to off for one line at the moment

I disagree it's a cheap plan when you factor in a phone payment (via edge) the plan isn't that great compared to older smartphone plans, again unless someone actually *needs* the unlimited talk and text. Is it better than before, sure, but Verizon's single plans with 2 year contracts still beat this (their plan options for a single line are sort of confusing too).
Now if it was $60 a month for 2GB *and* a subsidized (2 year) iphone/S5 for $199.99 with no sales (or cheaper) then yes it's a good deal as it'd be essentially $42ish a month when you factor in a phone subsidy. yes, the single line plans do not work with employer discounts. Only the more everything plans do.
That's the kicker. The plan is $60, but you can't lower it anymore than that.

No, the Prepaid plan is $65/mo for 3.5GB data (4gb on autopay) and the data rolls over for up to three months.
the prepaid is still a much better deal than the post-paid $60 for 2gb of data just to save a little on the phone.
If you used 4GB of data on the post-paid plan, you'd be at $90/mo before tax, prepaid is just at $60/mo.
