Why is it wrong for Tmobile to throttle

They are very clear about their throttling practices. Once you run out of the high speed data allotment you purchase, you are throttled for the remainder of the month. The rest of the carriers throttle you even when you have unlimited data.

T-mobile actually uses throttling as a selling point--they don't charge overages--and they still offer truly unlimited 4G for customers who don't want to deal with slow down.

Tmobile wont come out and admit they throttle but they have "network optimization" too. The rules behind it may not effect more then 1% of customers (the one thing Tmobile really has is a lot of bandwidth) but they and Sprint have it. The difference is that AT&T and Verizon are throttling before 5GB while Tmobile and Sprint customers can hit 30GB without ever being slowed down.

And yes. I have seen Sprint customers hit 30GB. Even more. Heck when I had Sprint for 2 weeks I had hit 13 GB and that was only on 3G.

Nice. Like I said, its possible on 3G.

I wonder if nowadays that would hit network optimization requirements.

what there talking about is during heavy data traffic times which all carriers do anyway...its priority....I feel they should do that with all networks. Example: T-Mobile truly unlimited is $80 dollars but MetroPCS is $60 with the same network priority. A lot of metropcs customers in and around my area use there cellphone as there main source of internet and are ALWAYS on it so it congests the network. If the carriers monitored it a little better then more customers would have a better internet browsing experience.

T-Mobile can if they need too, although on LTE i rarely if ever go below 10Mbps on the LTE, usually it's more like 30-70Mbps

I'm happy with T-Mobile's current throttling policies as of now personally.
