I would be curious to know what you think is wrong with the Framily plan. Is it just the name, or is there some aspect of the plan which you feel is bad for customers? I've been a Sprint customer for about 3 years and am thinking about switching to a framily plan. It looks like it could lower my bill significantly, while allowing me to keep unlimited data. Am I missing something? What are the drawbacks?

Without knowing your current plan, I'll go off of my main inquiries from customers. They usually have the everything data plan and are looking to lower their bill.

Lose the ability to upgrade with a 2 year agreement/discount on equipment. Also if you buy a phone under Easy Pay, it can only be used on that specific line until it has been paid off, whereas with the 2 year agreement option, you can upgrade one line, and then switch that device to whichever line you want. If you recently upgraded with a 2 year agreement after 1/10/2014, a monthly $15 fee will apply to that respective line until the 2 year agreement has been fulfilled.
Only new customers within their first 14 days of setting up service can join your Framily ID.

Ok, so I have an Everything Data Plan with 2 lines. It currently runs about $150 a month before tax. I also get an employee discount on top of that.

If I switch to a framily plan I know I can get 3 Verizon customers to come over. So, with the price reduction on 5 lines, would it cost me more?

I figured that if I switched with only 2 lines, I'd be saving 5 bucks a month. But I guess I lose that with the crappy discount on the framily plans. But a framily plan with 5 lines might be enough cheaper that I save money.

Just to be clear, let's say I get a 20% discount. If I got to a framily plan the discount will only apply to the data plan on the 5 lines? So, that's 20% of $100 ($20 * 5 lines), or a $20 discount? Is that what you're sayi...

As long as they're joining your Framily ID and they have their own account, their costs will onlybe applied to their personal bill and won't effect your costs. It would reduce your monthly rates for each line and theirs by $15, putting each line at $35 per line. When including the unlimited data package for each line, it's $55 for each line. The 20% discount would be $4 off per line.

If they are being added to your accont and you take responsibility for their lines when they join instead of them just setting up their own account and joining your Framily ID. This would then bring everything all together, so 5 lines x $55 (if you go with unlimited data for each line) would equal $275 a month before taxes and installment costs from Easy Pay...

I see. Well, I signed up with Sprint right around Thanksgiving so I could take advantage of Cyber Monday sales on cellphones. Last year I got a GS5 for free and and a note 3 for $99 - substantially less than the normal discount pricing. I'm guessing the framily plan doesn't provide that value.

Don't forget no activation fees and upgrading every year.

There are activation fees of $36 when you upgrade through Easy Pay, and you have to have unlimited data on the Framily Plan to upgrade every year, as well as trade in your phone that is currently on Easy Pay to start a new Easy Pay agreement.

Yeah..I don't know why they don't waive it I know for certain AT&T waives it only on their financing option (blanking in the name of their program).
