Is DUN and OBEX enabled on these phones? I am looking at getting a new cell provider Sprint may be in the running if they don't do any stupid Bluetooth tricks like Verizon does.

Sprint is just as bad if not worse when it comes to bluetooth. Also i've read DUN will still be 1x anyways, ev-do will only be for the multi-media services.

Where? Point me to those articles. Otherwise, I have a problem believing that.

not sure what you are talking about or how you can say Sprint is as bad or worse -- every single bluetooth phone Sprint has can be used for DUN or OBEX (except for LG 325 which doesn't have OBEX), and the new 6700 definitely does DUN over EV-DO -- check dslreports.com under the mobile speed tests and see that the spcsdns.com users are logging the fastest data rates of mobile handset users.

uh.... no.

A Bluetooth FRIEGHT TRAIN is about to hit Sprint FULL force courtesy of Samsung and Motorola.

Samsung will have 6 within the next 6 months (3 within 1 month... 1 of which is out now.)

Moto will have a variant of the E815 coming soon.

Hell even Sanyo will have the 5700 with bluetooth and wifi. LG has a couple in the works too.

Also... DUN will be EV-DO capable... Sprint even sells "Phone as modem" EV-DO plans for $25.

So far... the Sprint Samsungs with Bluetooth (a940) and not crippled like Verizon (a970).

The next year will be good for Sprint customers.

Hey everyone. I am wondering what is DUN and OBEX? What more would you use Bluetooth build into a cell phone than a wireless headset? What does Verizon do to Bluetooth that is a stupid trick, what are the tricks? What more can Bluetooth do? Thank!

Sync your address book with your PC or you car. Transfer ringers or pics to and from your phone. Dial up networking without a cable tethered to your laptop.
