Does this mean that if you have a family plan with Verizon and subscribe to (let's say) 10 GB of Data and you have 4 phones and use 8 GB that you will be throttled because you are over 4.8 GB.....or
of your 4 phones 3 use 1 GB but the 4th uses 5GB that the one phone using 5GB will be throttled?

No, this only impacts lines with Unlimited LTE Data still, which I claim, and I use up 4.8GB in a week sometimes ;-)
But I am VERY GLAD they are getting **** for this, this is why net neutrality would be nice, and I'd love the FCC to step in and stop carriers' abuse of their customers always.

sounds about right. they are punishing their own customers who are smarter then they are.
the government shouldnt have to step in to protect the people though. us, as the consumers hold all the power. Verizon, ATT etc make NO money without us as a customer. so let your voices be heard. leave the greedy duopoly and never look back. Their are other options. Sprint, Tmobile, Prepaids, etc. its about time we punish them.

I would think as a matter of LAW that this would suspend any contract or penalty should a use wish to exercise this exception. This is definitely a change of terms which would render invalid the mandatory requirements of the user.
If I had a "guaranteed" unlimited use of data contract with an agreement for compensation if I quit early then they changes the terms by which I entered that agreement I'd say it's unenforceable as to early termination.

Everybody that has Unlimited data through Verizon is well past their contract. That and this doesn't change their contract at all they still get unlimited data. Just like T-mobile has unlimited data for $50 a month.

No. It only applies to unlimited data, a type of plan you can't purchase anymore. Only people who still have an old grandfathered-in unlimited plan can keep it and continue to use it. Verizon is trying their level best to get rid of said people/plans, because they feel it affects their network negatively.
If you're on "tiered data", where you pay for "x" GB of data per month, this doesn't apply to you.

Yes. so the big and greedy government can force its way into businesses and people's lives? No thanks, I prefer the free market where I can go somewhere else rather than complain or be forces to do anything. God forbid, businesses try and make money (gasp). 🙄
