AT&T Increases Activation Fee to $40

T-Mobile Charges...

T-Mobile charges a $10 SIM card fee... Where as other carriers that use them provide them free on activation or upgrading. While much lower, the fact is, this is where they have a fee to start service (Activation) but called something else.

Only if you don't already have a SIM card from your first phone, and are buying a non-T-Mobile phone which doesn't include one.

When I bought a new device, I still had to pay $10 for a SIM card, even though I had my old one that they transferred the account over to (prepaid to postpaid). I later had to call them and ask for a credit, which I got, but even still, I paid for it, then got a credit. It seems standard regardless if you have a SIM or not.

Might have been some computer issue not wanting to activate a previously-used SIM on a different account.

I have activated unused SIM cards from prepaid kits on my postpaid account. I have never paid for a SIM card.
