T-Mobile Says Wi-Fi Calling Coming to iPhone
Dear God, please don't tell Apple about this.
Oh well, I'm probably just being paranoid. Apple is wonderful and they'd never break a cellular feature like that.
and it was an easy fix at that. people just had no patience
if people thought it was their mesaging app it wopuldnt have been a huge problem you have to turn on imessages to use it so if noone knows about it it wouldnt be a problem
So frankly it is dishonest of Apple to on the one hand try to appeal to people who don't understand how to basic things like turn off a feature, and then on the other hand say 'hey, if only our users were tech savvy enough to understand how this feature works and how to turn it off there would be no problem.' iMessage is something which is very easy for a non tech person to turn on, but very hard for them to turn of...

Not standing up for Apple, but saying that it is difficult to turn off is misinformation.
imessages is simple, just like blackberry messenger used to be before they made it available to everyone
You wanna know how ignorant the average cell phone user is?
Look......I sell cell phones for a living...I also sell those little service cards for pre-paid phones.
Do you have any idea how many people are unable to renew their pre-paid service on their own and need me to do it for them, calling the number on the back of the card and giving the PIN? Probably at least 1/2 of the people who buy pre-paid service cards need to have the cards activated for them because they can't figure out how to it for themselves, it's 'too complicated'.....
I tell them 'oh this isn't hard, you just call this number and give them them t...

people say all kinds of things because theyre lazy and dont wanna do it themselves.
now i know thats not for everyone. for some people it might be which is why i had mentioned theres no reason for those real people its difficult for have no business having a smartphone as it is and if they do they still dont know how to turn on imessages so it wouldnt affect them
and you may be getting these cust because of the location you work in, try looking for a new place
and it was an easy fix if you didnt, the resolutions been known for months just never posted on here
The problem is that the people who tend to use Apple products are generally not smart to know how to 'deregister' iMessage, they aren't even smart enough to know that deregisteration is required, they aren't even smart enough to know deregistration means.
Apple products tend to appeal to people who don't understand tech, people who fear technology. I often have to show iPhone users how to do basic stuff like uninstall an app, or log in to their email. They certainly don't understand the kinds of technicalities and complexities that you are talking about.
And often it isn't the user that does stuff like turning on iMessage, it is the guy at the ...

Also, I agree, It's been like this with every apple product.
Imac:
Reasonable Person: "this is a slow PC for double price"
Apple User: "derp"
Iphone:
Me: "this is a cell phone with an mp3 player glued to it for double the price of each."
Apple User: "derp"
I can't tell you the number of people I have met who think that the iPhone is the first smartphone, I point out to them that Windows Mobile, Blackberry and Palm all made smartphones are early as 1999 (i.e. 8 years before the iPhone) and they think I'm crazy.
And Apple people all seem to conveniently forget that the first phone with iTunes wasn't the iPhone, but the Motoroal RKR, one of the worst phones ever made.
ive had to show people how to log in to emails on every OS, thats gonna happen
and yea i agree with you that people really arent that smart when it comes to their phones
as far as someone at the store turning it on for them cant comment on that because people do what they want maybe they do maybe not

How was iMessage a feature people didn't know existed? It is a big difference between other OSes and has been around for years. The solution to the iMessage bug is an easy fix at that. People just have no patience.

1) Apple products are designed as lifestyle products that simply work and are not intended as toys for people who want to know how the underlining technology works. Honestly, considering that it is 2014 technology *should* be designed ...

2) because theres no need to explain it because everyone should know its a messaging service for apple products
and just like applications with android and windows and bb they all have features that cant be installed because theyre not apps or are required to have it
imessages itself is a setting not an app
3) ive never seen anyone mistake an im app for a messaging app, dont see how that happens, shouldnt have a smartphone if that happens
4) and thats the way it should be but there are a few things needed
5) how exactly was it in secrecy you have to turn it on to use it
6)like i said if you have to turn it on to use...

its not the fact people are born with the information, why does anyone need to understand the exact way imessages works? alll people need to know is its a feature that allows messaging between apple products simple as that, just like bbm
when has apple not been able to help them??? all they have to do is deregister them, i deal with the issue everyday
i garauntee if this happened with android noone would be saying anything,
I didn't say they need to know exactly how iMessage works. I am saying most people don't even know what iMessage is. They assume its just their texting app. They have no idea that its not using SMS to other iOS users.
I get that most of Apple's bugs are spun as features, but this one really is an app.
>>do you donwload or install anything for it no
I don't know how you install it, but it's clearly not part of the OS. But I'm glad to know that operating systems can run "features" that are something other than applications.
>>do you donwload or install anything for it no
I see. So, I can also update Internet Explorer through Windows update. So obviously by your logic Windows Explorer isn't an app either.
>> in no way is it an app
Except that it is an app in every sense of the word. In no way is it a "setting." 'Yes', 'No', 'On', 'Off', 'Red', 'Blue'.... if you haven't picked up on the patte...
